I’ve had an idea, and it involves a halfpipe! But first an update: after Pumped 2 came out I took some time off to 1. recover, 2. relax, and 3. prototype. I’m back to ‘real’ work now, which was originally going to be some extra level packs for Pumped 2. It’s not anymore: after some prototyping and brainstorming I realised that Pumped 2 ain’t perfect (shocker!), and there are a number of features I’d like to add that won’t work as simple updates.

Long story short, I’m working on Pumped 3. This isn’t some big announcement, I’ve only just started working on it really, but it definitely shouldn’t take as long as the gap between Pumped 1 & 2.

Essentially: no Pumped 2 updates cos I’d rather make Pumped 3. I realise that might be a bit of a let down, but try and look at it this way: by not making extra P2 levels I can get P3 done a lot quicker. Just to be clear, P3 is very early on, so don’t expect screenshots etc. for quite a while.

However, I do want to keep chatting shit on the internet, which is why I’ve come up with the new project idea!

On Friday I spent the morning messing around with making a halfpipe, as you can see in the video above.

It was fun, a good way to spend a few hours on a lazy Friday, and people seemed to enjoy it. So my plan is that I’m going to do a little bit more to ‘The Pipe’ each week (mostly Fridays), and you can follow along if you want. And here’s the kicker: I’ll make it playable online, so you can mess around with playing it as it improves each week. And if you’ve got any cool ideas, throw ’em at me.

It’s not ready to play just yet – you can’t ‘reset’ back to the beginning yet for one thing, but I’m hoping to get it online next Friday, or if not that definitely the Friday after. It’ll be buggy prototype mess, but hopefully it’ll slowly turn into a vert game that’s actually fun to play, for free. Which would be cool. And hopefully it’ll tide you over til P3 is finished!

So that’s the plan: #fuckaboutfriday.
